How to explain dropping out of law school after one year to employers?

I am currently a first year law student and have come to the conclusion that it is not what I want to do so I will not be returning next year. How to I explain this in a cover letter so that it’s even possible for me to get my foot in the door for an interview? I don’t want to appear as a flake, but I’m not willing to waste two more years not working and accumulating debt just to have a JD. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I wouldn’t mention it in the cover later at all, if you need to just tell them you were attending college
