Question by blynn360: How should I address my cover letter when there is no name?
I’m creating a cover letter for a job and there is no name to place on the cover letter, so how should I start my cover letter for the job I’m applying for?

I went with “Dear Sir Or Madam” or “Dear Perspective Employer”

Myself I believe that letters are excellent, assuming they are presented utilizing excellent punctuation and spelling (always use a spall chocker!). You can find some excellent guidance for composing letters by reading the resource in the box below, it’s got loads of extra things about job seeking as well.
Dear Hiring Manager or Dear Sir or Madam
To whom it may concern
To Whom It May Concern, Director of Human Resources, Human Resources Dept.
If it is not a “blind” ad and I know the name of the business I call and ask the person answering the phone who is in charge of the hiring process i.e.(HR person or head of the department for which you are applying.) Personalizing a cover letter is always the best chance for an interview.
If it is a “blind” ad I sometimes don’t address anyone. It’s a personal choice in that case. Sir or Madam sounds outdated as does To Whom It May Concern
