I am an aspiring voice-over artist. I have taken a 6-week voice-over class, and I have a demo reel of which I am very proud. I would like to find an agent. I have found a list of agents here: http://www.voiceoverresourceguide.com/la/03agencies.html

My questions for voice-over professionals are:

1) What do you include in your mailing? Do you include a headshot? A resume (I have an acting resume, but not a voice-over resume)? A cover letter (I mainly want advice for this)?

2) What sort of envelope do you use for the mailing? My demo CD will be in a standard jewel case.

3) Is the agency list (included in the above link) a good start? Other than the agencies that have the mark of "No Unsolicited Calls or Submissions," should I send my reel to all of those places? Ignoring the fact that I should "save postage," is there a reason I should be more discriminating in my choice of agencies to contact? Are there any agencies missing from this list that I should contact?

I’m sending in a supplemental form to a school that I applied to, and I need to write a cover letter. I feel like "Dear Sir or Madame" is outdated, but I’m not sure what else I could write without sounding awkward. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!
